Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her most well-known part is as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in 2010 as well as 2007 for her performance as Johnson. The series ended following the seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian, of English heritage. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and says she is a member of Passover seders.
